Polar Bear Coming Out of Freeze
Here we see a polar bear that was chased down by a tranquilizer dart wielding scientist in a helicopter. As the polar bear comes out of its chemically induced freeze state we see the shaking that discharges the fight or flight energy. If you look closely the movements are completing the protective motor plan of running away from the threat. Notice the deep breath that signals the end of discharging that energy. This is why animals in nature are seldom traumatized. They can discharge the huge amount of "survival energy" that is mobilized by the threat. Also note that how we go into freeze determines how we come out of it.

Has Your Amygdala Been Hijacked?
The amygdala is the "smoke detector" of the brain that alerts us to danger. Under perceived threatening conditions the amygdala can hijack the brain and push us into fight or flight, and right out of our neocortex, so that we stay alive but our IQ drops by about 25 points.
